Project Locations:

  • Queensborough Science Departments:

    Biological Sciences & Geology, Chemistry, Mathematics & Computer Science, Physics, and Social Sciences

  • Queens College Science Departments:

    Biology and Chemistry

  • York College Science Departments:

    Biology, Chemistry, Health Science, Psychology and Social Science

  • New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene:

    Various

Participation time and salary*:

  • Part time - during the academic year - $120/week
  • Full time - during the summer - $350/week
  •  

*Students are paid so they can focus on their research projects

     

Student Obligations:

  • Diligently conduct research with a mentor
  • Attend RIMS workshops

    Topics include:

    • Transferring to a senior college
    • writing a scientific report
    • Creating PowerPoint presentations
  •  
  • Meet individually with a Program Counselor
  • Submit a written report
  • Present his/her research at the final seminar in May
  •
