The Role of Mentors:

  • Submit a biomedical research project to the Program Advisory Committee for approval
  • Participate in recruiting students
  • Closely supervise and guide student research
  • Monitor each student's academic performance and curriculum choices
  • Guide students in developing oral presentations and their final written reports
  • Seek opportunities for students to make presentations

 

Support for Mentors:

  • Choice of release time or summer salary
  • Travel to national meetings with students who are presenting
  • Funds for research supplies
